Remote Patient Monitoring on the rise

Since the population is aging further, there's an ever growing stress put onto the healthcare system and its facilities. Remote Patient Monitoring can help to relieve some of that stress and at the same time families of older patients may prefer to use RPM to keep their loved ones in their homes instead of sending them to care-homes. Remote patient monitoring allows busy non-medical caregivers to keep an eye on the patient while still living their own life.

Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced another reason for remote monitoring: limiting the spread of the virus. Infected persons who do not require hospital treatment can remain quarantined at home, with regular virtual check-ins from healthcare professionals. This reduces the burden on the system, enables patients to get adequate medical care, and lessens healthcare workers' exposure to the virus.
